ASSOCIATION MEMBERSHIP
-
The Xibei Chinese Association (hereafter “the Association”) shall have two membership categories: individual and family, with individual membership for one person and family membership for two or members of the same family. Family members are defined as children below 18 years of age living together with one or more of their parents and also as one or more parents over 65 years of age living together with one or more of their adult children.
-
Any individual residing in Alberta, and being of the full age of 18 years, may become an individual member of the Association as per favourable vote passed by a quorum majority of members at a regular general meeting of the Association membership, and upon payment of annual membership dues. (See below.) Such voting shall be done by ballot unless the meeting by resolution decide otherwise.
-
Any member wishing to withdraw from membership may do so upon notice in writing to the Executive Board through its Secretary. If any member is in arrears for dues for any year, such member shall be automatically suspended at the expiration of six months from the end of such year and shall thereafter be entitled to no membership privileges in the Association until reinstated. Any member upon a majority quorum vote of all members of the Association in good standing may be expelled from membership for any cause that the Association may deem reasonable.
MEMBERSHIP DUES
-
Membership dues shall be determined from time to time by Association members at general membership meetings, which are to be held at least annually. (See below.)
-
Annual membership dues are currently (2019) $15 for individuals and $30 for families. These dues may change in the future.
